Ancient-Future Worship Workshop!
Modernity, Postmodernity, and Where in the World Do We go From Here?

Are you looking for a dynamic worship workshop? Need a dash of inspiration for your worship leaders? Developed at the request and with input of my mentor and friend Dr. Robert Webber, this image- and music-packed presentation was designed to help leaders get a fresh vision of biblical worship, understand the modern world we've left behind and engage our postmodern culture, and navigate the changing waters of the church and her worship-- all from a worship pastor's heart and with an eye toward practical application.

First shared in part at "Break Forth Canada 2004," that nation's largest annual worship conference, this brand new presentation has been expanded and is now available for use at seminars and workshops. It can be used as a one-day mini workshop, or for two days, and features great music and worship, lots of terrific images, insightful teaching and commentary, and group participation.

Here's what you get at the workshop:
Music and worship to start the sessions.
A clear, easy to use outline to write on and take home.
A helpful overview of the modern era and how it has affected worship.
A fun, creative look at the sights, sounds, and philosophies of our postmodern culture.
Fresh examination of a biblical theology and order of worship.
Clear definitions of blended versus convergent worship.
A helpful understanding of the dreaded "S" word: style.
Practical musical examples, plus a list of recommended resources to take home.
A look at the early church and classic Christianity and why they have the potential for uniquely meeting needs in a postmodern world.
Plenty of meaningful small group participation.
Lots of fun, laughter, and learning.

What People Are Saying About Chris' Workshops...

"God really used you to speak to me.... I received so much more than what I thought. I'm still working through all of what I received. Thank you." -Scott

"I came to the retreat expecting to work on music...but instead God worked on ME! I will be praising Him for a long time for the things He showed me this weekend through your leading. I can't thank you enough for what you did." -Sandye

"I just want to say how much your teachings meant to me and my friends. One of the people who came with me didn't catch the first lecture, so I told him to come with me to the others. He just sat there enthralled." -Carol

"Thank you so much for the terrific passion and insight which you brought to our sessions." -Bob

"Your lecture on postmodernism was the best of any that I heard [this weekend], and I went to all of them. You seemed to be the only one who didn't just embrace postmodernism wholesale, but said that we had to be careful to hold fast to orthodox teachings and good theology. Thanks for sharing the dangers, and the opportunities, in postmodernism." -Ed

"...you spoke about subjects that are near and dear to my heart, I was absolutely thrilled! I took more notes in your class than any other over the weekend." -M. H.

"I changed the electives that I had signed up for so I could follow your lectures all weekend long." -Ann

"What you said to us has made such an impact. I mean, all of us in our group have just been saying how great it's been, how we've got to take this back home with us." -Ted

"When you retold the parable of the lost sheep and the Good Shepherd going out into the world to seek and find it, I was going, 'Yes, yes! That's right!'" -Lynn

"Thank you again for your inspirational lectures...." -Marjorie

"The content of what you shared was just great...and you've got to be one of the funniest speakers I've ever heard. It was a blast!" -Mark

"Thanks for this past weekend... I feel that I got a lot of great info from you...about worship, can't wait to use some in my church." -Wilma

"You are a phenomenal presenter... You really know your stuff." -Bill

Brand New Workshop: The Call to an Ancient Evangelical Future: What Does it Mean for Worship?

...We call evangelicals to turn away from forms of worship that...[have] resulted in lecture-oriented, music-driven, performance-centered and program-controlled models that do not adequately proclaim God's cosmic redemption.... "The Call," Section 4: "On Church's Worship..."

In 2006, Robert Webber and a number of imminent theologians crafted "The Call". To date, hundreds of pastors and leaders have endorsed it. So, what's in it? What does it mean for worship? Is it just another fad? Or, as one worship leader has said, is it a "godsend" that will help bring long needed correctives to modern worship? Read the "Call" here, then use this workshop to unpack it and give practical ideas about what it will mean for worship. Read the "Call" here:
